Rear Brake Pad Replacement

Model: Volkswagen Bora MK 6 - Years 1998-2005

Lift the vehicle with a jack and remove the rear wheel: for safety, it’s advisable to place the wheel under the rear axle as a makeshift stand. Release the handbrake and disconnect the cable from the caliper. Then, unscrew the caliper fixing bolts located at the back, remove the caliper and the worn pads. To retract the piston, you will need a special tool that allows it to rotate and retract. Once this is done, insert the new pads into the bracket, reposition the brake caliper tightening the respective fixing bolts, and reconnect the handbrake cable. Finally, refit the wheel.
