Replacing the Rear Wheel Bearing

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

Obtain the replacement bearings. Lift the vehicle, secure it, and remove the wheel. Remove the metal cover protecting the securing bolt located on the hub, which will then be unscrewed. If there are difficulties, use penetrating spray. Remove the entire brake assembly. Using a puller, remove the drum to access the bearing. Free the bearing by removing it. Clean thoroughly from the old grease. Then position the new bearing inside after properly greasing it. Using a piece of wood, tap with the hammer to ensure the bearing fits perfectly into its housing. Refit all the spacers previously removed.
