Replacing the Remote Key Battery on a Volkswagen

Model: Volkswagen Volkswagen Various
Part: Key

Video tutorial

In this short video tutorial, you will learn how to remove and replace the battery of the remote key on various Volkswagen models. First, take your remote in hand and lever on the sides (in the gap) to separate the two halves of the remote; then access the battery, which you will remove with something sharp.

At this point, fit the new battery, the correct type (usually a 2032), and place it back inside the remote, ensuring it is inserted the right way; then reassemble the two halves.
