How to Remove the Instrument Cluster from a Volkswagen Passat

To remove the instrument cluster from a Volkswagen Passat, first pull the lever located at the back of the steering wheel to lower the steering column. This will allow for easier access. Next, pull off the plastic cover surrounding the instrument cluster by loosening its retaining clips. Once the cover is removed, you can loosen the screws underneath to slide out the instrument cluster. It can be completely removed after disconnecting the connector at the back.
