How to Reset the Service Light on the Volkswagen Passat

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

Contrary to what one might think, resetting the service light on your Volkswagen Passat B5 is not difficult and only takes a few seconds. Before discovering how to do it, ensure that the engine is off. Then locate the button just below the speedometer and hold it down. At the same time, insert the key and turn on the ignition. Immediately after, release the button and turn the button located below the rev counter clockwise. At this point, the reset is complete, and to confirm it, simply switch off and restart the car.
