Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf 4, Golf IV, MK 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Coolant temperature sensor
Operation: Replacement of the temperature sensor

The temperature sensor is used to measure the engine temperature. It is an electronic component whose resistance decreases with increasing temperature. Thanks to this sensor, the driver is always aware of the engine temperature value, which is particularly important to avoid overheating. To replace it, you need to know that the sensor is usually screwed into the cylinder head. Its replacement is not difficult and can be done quite quickly. You have to disconnect the wires, unscrew the defective sensor, screw the new one and then connect the wires, cleaning the contacts first.
