In this tutorial, you will learn how to remove and replace the tensioner and serpentine belt on a Volkswagen Golf with a 1.8 turbo engine. First, open the bonnet and begin loosening the belt tensioner using a spanner to remove the belt from the various pulleys; then, unscrew the fixing bolts of the tensioner to remove it, as shown in the video. At this point, replace the tensioner with the new one, using the original spare part; finally, install and refit the serpentine belt, ensuring it is correctly positioned!
