How to Replace the Diesel Filter on a Volkswagen Golf Mk VI

To change the diesel filter on a Volkswagen Golf Mk VI, once you open the bonnet, identify the diesel filter, which has a flange with 5 star screws that can be easily removed. After this, lift the cover with the four sleeves and leave it in position. Using a long socket, also remove the screws that secure the filter housing below and gently take it out of its housing, as it will be full of diesel. Remove the old filter, allowing it to drain well. Empty the housing of any residual diesel into a container prepared for this purpose, remove the old O-ring from the flange sealing the filter housing and replace it with a new one, ensuring it fits well. Reposition the housing in its place, securing it tightly with the screws using the long socket. Insert the new filter and reposition the flange cover, securing it tightly with its 5 screws. Start the vehicle to allow the filter to fill up again, and the job is done.
