How to Replace the Key Battery in a Volkswagen Atlas

Before discovering how to replace the key battery in your Volkswagen Atlas, obtain a new "CR 2032" button battery to avoid compatibility issues later. First, locate the button on the bottom of the cover. Press it while simultaneously pulling out the emergency key contained in the cover. At this point, use the same key or a flathead screwdriver to open the cover and remove the old battery. Finally, replace it with the new one and reassemble the cover.
