How to Repair the Dome Light on a Volkswagen Spacefox Suran Sportvan/Lupo/Golf

To repair the dome light on the Spacefox Suran Sportvan (also applicable to the Lupo and Golf), follow these steps: Remove the transparent cover through which the light passes, and take out the two central screws that hold the dome light to the body. Then, gently pry the dome light from its housing using a plastic spatula. Disconnect the connectors, and now you can work on it. The video shows oxidized parts, some damaged areas, and missing small screws. The YouTuber fixed it with silicone and epoxy glue, and cleaned the oxidized parts. Install the LED bulbs in the light housing, and test it by connecting just the connectors. It works. You can then install the side bulbs and reassemble everything: snap the dome light back in place, replace the screws, and reposition the cover. The job is done.
