How to Remove the Airbag on a Volkswagen Golf 4?

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

First, disconnect the battery to prevent an error code from appearing when you next turn on the ignition. Next, position the steering wheel at 90 degrees to its base position and insert a screwdriver into the back, as shown in the video. Without this preliminary step, it will not be possible to remove the airbag. With the screwdriver, you should feel a tab inside the hole where you inserted it; pull upwards to release the airbag from one side. Repeat the same operation on the other side with the second hole. Now you can remove the airbag and disconnect the corresponding cable.
