How to Remove and Replace CV Joint Boots

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

CV joints are vital components in a car, and if they make strange noises, it is advisable to replace them as soon as possible. In the following video, the CV joint has already been removed from the engine, as this disassembly appears in another video. Now, focus on the joint and all its components. A component that deteriorates easily is the wheel-side boot, as it is subject to all the movements of the wheels, which are both driven and steering. The engine-side joint, as you can see, has too much play. Release the clips and then cut the boot. Extract the joint by removing the snap rings with the appropriate pliers. Once the joint is completely disassembled, insert the new boot and reassemble the joint. Car model: VW Passat.
