How to Program the Key for a Volkswagen Passat?

To program the key for a Volkswagen Passat, open the driver's door to loosen the side screw at the lock: once this screw is loosened, you can remove the lock cylinder to access the internal part of its housing. Then, insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to position two to activate the instrument panel; simultaneously, rotate the switch located in the door lock housing, holding it for about ten seconds. At this point, you can press a button on the remote to check if it works.
