It is common for the plastic hinges of the central tunnel armrest to break, as well as those of the glove box door: there are repair kits available that not only restore the hinges but also permanently solve the breakage issue, as they are very robust. To repair the armrest hinge, remove the original ribs from the base using an air circular saw; then apply the first part of the new kit, securing it with a self-tapping screw, followed by inserting the second part and applying the other screws.
