Armrest Lid Repair

The failure of the hinge for opening the armrest lid (under which there is a storage compartment) is a fairly common defect: a repair kit is readily available in the aftermarket. First, remove the remaining hinge under the lid with a hacksaw, smooth the surface with sandpaper, and then install the first half of the new hinge, securing it with self-tapping screws, position the lid in its place, and apply the other half of the hinge, also securing it with screws. The video demonstrates the strength of this repair by tapping it with a hammer.
