Replacing a serpentine belt may be necessary for various reasons, such as low tension, tooth detachment, loss of tension, or worn back. Generally, it is replaced every 100,000 miles. To perform the job correctly, it is necessary to obtain torque wrenches for the fixing bolts of the tensioner bearing. The work should be done with the engine cold. Once all components that obstruct access to the belt are removed, it can be extracted by disassembling the tensioner bearing and the fixed guide bearing, proceeding to replace all worn gears.
