Replacing the External Rear-View Mirror Glass

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

The glass of the external rear-view mirror is attached to the support, allowing adjustment through snap tabs. To detach it, adjust the mirror fully downwards and pry at the rear. To install the new glass, reverse the process, aligning the tabs of the new glass with the respective slots in the support and press it until it clicks into place. Perform some adjustment maneuvers to ensure the glass does not detach from the support.
