As demonstrated by the YouTuber, in the case of our Touareg, despite regular maintenance, the gearbox oil was very dirty, even though it had been changed just 37,000 miles ago. But changing the oil is not enough for proper maintenance; a thorough cleaning of the gears is necessary, which can only be done by a specialised mechanic using dedicated machinery like those shown in the video, ensuring a long life for the automatic gearbox and the security of not being stranded due to this particular part.
