How to Change the Oil and Filter on a Volkswagen Routan

To change the oil and filter on the vehicle, follow these instructions: First, open the hood and unscrew the oil filler cap. Then, lift the vehicle and locate the oil drain plug under the oil pan. Loosen the bolt and place a container to collect the used oil. Wait a few minutes for all the oil to drain out, then tighten the plug again. On the side of the oil pan, there is a filter that needs to be removed with the appropriate wrench and replaced with a new one, ensuring to replace the o-ring gasket as well. Finally, return to the engine compartment, fill the system with new oil, and check the level with the dipstick.
