How to Replace the Key Battery on a Volkswagen

If you notice that when you try to open the car door with the remote, it does not open, you may need to replace the remote battery as it is depleted. To do this, follow the simple instructions below. The remote consists of two parts that you can separate by pulling them apart from both ends. Use a sharp object to open the cover on the top part of the key, and inside you will find the battery compartment. Use a sharp object to pry out the battery, take the new one, and place it in the compartment. Then close the cover and reattach the two parts of the remote, and the job is complete.
