Resolving Water Infiltration Issues in the Cabin

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

If you find water in the passenger side of the cabin, it indicates a problem with infiltration. The first possibility could be a failure of the internal radiator: check the coolant level in the reservoir; if it is fine, then water is entering from somewhere else. Check the seal at the base of the cabin air filter support located in the engine bay, on the passenger side just below the cabin. Indeed, upon removing this support, you may notice that the underlying seal is damaged; replace it with a new one (you can also use adhesive foam, typically used for sealing frames).
