In this video, we see how to replace the airbox that contains the air filter on a 2014 Volkswagen Passat by installing a cone filter in its place, which also required the installation of a silicone adapter on the throttle body/MAF sensor from which the original tube originated. An aluminum tube was then connected to this, cut to size. The K&N cone sports filter can be found on Amazon with the code B00AFRIVNQ for a price of €45.72, with free delivery in two days for Prime customers. He then drilled a hole in the tube and threaded a fitting for the engine breather hose (which was previously connected to the original airbox). The achieved goal is a sportier sound and appearance of the engine, a presumed increase in performance, and future savings (the filter is washable). In reality, it will lose torque at low RPMs, and in Italy, it could lead to problems during the inspection.
