This guide shows how to replace the engine air filter on the Volkswagen Routan Mk1. First, remove the engine cover and loosen the metal retaining clamp on the engine air intake hose. At this point, you can pull the ducts from the filter housing, and with the two plastic clips, you can open the box. Now, remove the old filter element. It is recommended to clean the filter housing and its cover with a vacuum cleaner. Install the new filter element in the correct position and close everything up. Check the proper positioning of the parts and reattach the air intake hose.
