How to Replace the Cabin Filter on the Volkswagen Routan

The cabin filter for your Volkswagen Routan is located under the glove compartment in front of the passenger seat. To access it, open the glove compartment, then using your hands, squeeze the sides of the compartment inward so that the guides can bypass the latch, allowing the compartment to drop completely and giving you access to the adjacent area. In front of you, you will find a rectangular container with two tabs on the short sides; opening these will allow you to remove the cover and access the old cabin filter. It is very important to note the direction of the airflow (indicated with an air flow arrow) on the old filter just removed, so you can install the new one in the same direction. At this point, reattach the cover and secure the glove compartment guides.
