Fuel Filter Replacement

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

On the car model in question, the fuel filter is not located in the engine bay but under the vehicle's floor, near the rear right wheel: ideally, you should lift the vehicle on a ramp, but using axle stands will also suffice; once the vehicle is lifted, remove the protective plate located directly above the filter housing, disassemble the filter's support bracket, and disconnect the fuel inlet and outlet pipes; then apply the new filter, respecting the fuel flow direction indicated by an arrow on the filter itself, secure the pipes, the support bracket, and the protective plate.
