In this guide, follow the main instructions to time the engine of the Volkswagen Golf. First, open the bonnet of your car and begin removing the serpentine belt and the timing belt; note that timing should be done every time the timing belt is replaced.

Align the mark on the crankshaft pulley with the mark on the serpentine belt pulley; meanwhile, the piston must be at the end of its stroke, using a dial gauge.

Then refit the timing belt!
