Removal and Replacement of the Fuel Filter

Model: Volkswagen New Beetle MK 2, 9C - Years 1999-2012

First, locate the position of the fuel filter, which is situated underneath the car near the fuel tank. At this point, unscrew the clamp screw that holds the filter in place. Disconnect the pipe that supplies fuel to the filter using a screwdriver and a small plastic lever as shown in the video. Be careful of fuel splashes to the eyes. Now disconnect the filter from the other pipe at the rear. To do this, perform the same operation with the screwdriver and plastic lever. This maintenance operation is carried out on a Volkswagen New Beetle (the procedure also applies to a VW Golf, Jetta, or Audi TT).
