In order to replace the rear hatch lock of the Volkswagen Fox, you need to open the hatch so that you can locate its outer trim panel. This panel can be removed from its position by removing the appropriate rivets. This will allow access to the underlying components and the hatch lock can be removed by loosening its screws. Additionally, all the cables connected to it can be disconnected so that they can be connected to the new replacement piece. After the replacement, the new actuator must be secured and the panel must be reattached.
