How to Remove the A/C Knobs from a VW New Beetle 2003

The air conditioning control knobs located at the centre of the dashboard console, just below the stereo, are simply clipped in place: to remove them, grasp the knobs and pull them outward. Since the surface covering of these knobs is very delicate, it is advisable to cover the knobs with a cloth and then grip the handle with pliers to pull them outward for extraction. Repeat the same operation on all three knobs, perhaps photographing their position before disassembly to remember their placement for reinstallation.
