Replacement and Check of the Handbrake

Remove the ashtray by prying off the two round plastic covers, then remove the cup holders. You will now see the adjuster for your handbrake. By turning the 10mm bolt either way, you can adjust the butterfly that controls the tension of the two cables, increasing or decreasing the pressure generated by the piston on the brake disc. Before completing the job, ensure that the brake discs rotate freely without any unwanted friction with the pads. Also, check that the handbrake engages after 2 or 3 clicks. Once done, you can reposition the ashtray and cup holders.
