How to Remove the Automatic Gear Knob on a Volkswagen Jetta MK4

In this video, we will see how to remove the automatic gear knob on a Volkswagen Jetta MK4: first, put the gear lever in neutral. You will need a blunt tool, like the one shown in the video, rather than a screwdriver, which could scratch the lever; insert it between the knob and the chrome part of the gear lever, separating the two parts. Then, from the knob button, move it left and right to loosen the piece. Be careful not to pull too hard as there is a spring inside that could fly out. Once the button has completely come out, you can pull up the knob: ensure the gear actuator rod is in good condition. If nothing is broken, you can fit the new knob in place.
