Is the gear gaiter on your VW Jetta damaged? Here's how to replace it. Use a plastic lever to disconnect the leather gaiter frame, then remove the metal clip with pliers. Take the gear knob in your hands and rotate it left and right until it comes off the gear stick. For reassembly: take the new knob and slide it onto the stick in the centre console, securing it in place; fit the new leather gaiter and secure it with the metal clip using pliers, then attach the plastic frame to the centre console (ensure the plastics are secured above the centre console).
