How to Remove the Gear Shift Gaiter on a Volkswagen Jetta

Before you start, sit in the driver's seat of your Volkswagen Jetta. Begin by unclipping the base of the gear shift gaiter using a thin but sturdy tool. Next, lift the gaiter as high as possible. Once you have lifted the gaiter, you will reach the clip that secures it to the gear lever. Proceed to unclip this clip, then lift and remove the gaiter along with the gear knob. After completing this step, pull the gear knob off the gaiter, and the disassembly will be finished.
