Instructions for Removing the Gear Knob

Model: Volkswagen Jetta MK 6, A6 - Years 2010-2018
Part: Shift knob

To remove the gear knob, start the engine and position the gear lever in neutral. Detach the chrome insert located at the centre of the knob by pressing it upwards, then disconnect the selector cable from the button in front of the knob. Next, detach the trim at the base of the lever and lift the gaiter to remove the knob along with the gaiter and trim by pulling it upwards. To reassemble, reverse the process by inserting the knob onto the shaft, reconnecting the selector cable, and then reattaching the trim at the base and the chrome insert on the knob.
