In order to replace the battery of the Volkswagen remote control, you need to remove the key from the top of the device so that it can be completely removed: once the key has been removed, you can pry open the housing inside, completely detaching the cover on the back of the device. After the removal, you can access the underlying battery, which needs to be removed from its slot and replaced with a new spare part. After the replacement, you need to close the remote control and check that everything is working.
