The following steps will show you how to activate and deactivate the alarm system in a Volkswagen Passat. First, ensure all the car doors are closed, with the side windows fully closed.

Then, press and hold the red button on the remote for a couple of seconds to activate the alarm system, as shown in the video. To deactivate the alarm system, apply the opposite procedure; remember that the alarm is an optional feature and may not be present on all trims.
