How to Adjust the Handbrake on Volvo 960?

You can adjust the handbrake on the Volvo 960 by opening the ashtray located in the lower rear part of the central armrest: once opened, you can lever inside its housing to completely detach the panel from the rear of the armrest. Under this panel, there will be a nut that needs to be adjusted to modify the handbrake's intensity: tightening the nut will reduce the lever's travel and the handbrake will be heavier; conversely, loosening the nut will allow for greater lever travel and the handbrake will be lighter.
