Here’s how to remove the external mirror from a Volvo V50. Using a plastic-coated lever, pry between the perimeter of the mirror frame and the glass. Leverage until the glass detaches from the mirror (disconnect the power cable); this is a delicate operation as the mirror may break.

Press on the locking clips to disconnect the mirror cover, replacing the damaged part with the new one. Ensure the plastic snap clips engage properly in the mirror supports.
