Replacement of Gearbox Oil

Model: Volvo S80 - Years 1998-2006

If problems with gear engagement arise after many miles, you should replace the oil in the gearbox. Lift the vehicle on a ramp. After loosening some bolts of the sump, allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. Completely remove the sump and clean it, especially near the magnets, to remove any metallic debris. Replace the gasket, close the sump, and top up the gearbox with the correct amount of the appropriate oil. Check the engine oil level and take the vehicle for a test drive to see if the automatic gearbox issues have been resolved. Do not dispose of used oil in the environment; take it to the appropriate collection centres.
