Replacing Engine Oil and Oil Filter

Model: Volvo S80 - Years 1998-2006

Lift the vehicle and secure it with appropriate supports to prevent it from falling. The necessary tools are a ratchet spanner, a set of fixed spanners, a special tool for removing the filter, and a collection tray. Position the tray under the engine to collect the oil. Unscrew the oil cap on the sump and allow it to drain. Using the special tool, unscrew the filter and remove the cartridge. Replace the used filter cartridge with a new one and refit the filter. Also, replace the copper seal on the oil cap and that of the filter. Close the oil cap, refit the oil filter, and top up with new oil, checking the level with the dipstick. Do not dispose of used oil in the environment; take it to designated collection centres.
