Part: Dashboard
Operation: Central tunnel removal on Volvo V50-V40

Although we show you a Volvo V50 as an example, the procedure is the same for the V40. Using a plastic wedge, remove the outer frame of the on-board computer by prying it into the slots. At this point unscrew the screws surrounding the screen and extract it, remembering to disconnect the two connectors associated with it. If you want to remove the gear knob just press it lightly and rotate it, while the headset is simply extracted from the base (again with the plastic wedge). To disassemble the rear part of the central tunnel, open the drawer, remove the plate with the connector connected and unscrew the screws below.

We start by inserting the key but leaving it in the initial position, after which we keep the accelerator pedal fully depressed and at the same time turn on the instrument panel. At this point, always keeping the accelerator pressed, press the brake pedal 5 consecutive times and, with the pedals in position, turn off the ignition. We check that the procedure has been successful by starting the vehicle.
