To replace the remote battery of a Volvo XC90, press the button located at the top to lift the key blade and pry it out of its housing. By prying, you can lift the cover of the front part of the remote, gaining access to the battery; this should be removed from its housing and replaced with a new spare part. Once the new battery is inserted, close it by placing the cover back and reposition the key blade into its slot.
