Instructions for Replacing Cigarette Lighter

Model: Volvo S40 MK 1 - Years 1995-2004

The ashtray and cigarette lighter are located at the bottom of the centre console, just in front of the gear lever. Start by detaching and removing the storage pocket located just above the ashtray to access the two screws securing the ashtray compartment. Then, open the ashtray lid, remove the inner container, and the entire support to disconnect the connectors. At this point, you can detach the clip securing the cigarette lighter and remove it from its housing to fit the new one. Then, reverse the process to reassemble everything.
