To replace the exterior rearview mirror on a Volvo XC90, loosen the screws that secure the door panel to its housing so that it can be removed. Once the door panel is detached, proceed to remove the triangular panel located inside the mirror area.

This will allow you to access the underlying screws, which can be loosened to disconnect the internal connector and remove the mirror from its housing, replacing it with a new part.
