In this video we can see how there is an empirical method to reset the service light on an Alfa Romeo 159, despite the rule stating that this can only be done through diagnostic instrumentation. The same method is also valid for Mito and Giulietta. We turn on the ignition without starting the engine, and wait for the lights on the dashboard to turn off; after they have turned off, we press the accelerator pedal all the way down and with the accelerator pedal pressed, after waiting a second or two, we press the brake pedal all the way down six times. When we release the brake pedal for the sixth time, we also release the accelerator at the same time. We wait a second or two, start the car and we will notice that the service light has turned off.
