To replace the timing belt on the Alfa Romeo 166, access the engine bay and loosen the tensioner using a pneumatic gun or a socket wrench: the belt and tensioner are located on the side of the engine. Once the tensioner is loosened, you can slide off the belt. The new belt should be inserted starting from the lowest pulley: once inserted onto all the other pulleys, tension the belt by tightening the tensioner pulley. Finally, close the engine bay and check the proper functioning of the belt.
