In this video we will see the main steps that will allow us to remove and replace the thermostatic valve on the Alfa Romeo 159, with 1.9 JTDM engine. First of all, let's drain the coolant or antifreeze, disconnecting the hose from the bottom of the car; then we open the engine hood and remove the plastic cover and the battery, disconnecting the clamps. At this point we unscrew the fixing screws of the thermostat tube; we disconnect the electrical connector of the sensor and the pipes of the cooling fluid, replacing and reassembling everything!

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes.
