Timing Belt Replacement on an Audi A6

Model: Audi A6 MK 2, C5 - Years 1997-2004
Part: Timing belt

Let's go through the disassembly and replacement of the timing belt on an Audi A6. Open the hood and lift it, securing it in place. Remove the soundproofing panel and the coolant reservoir, disconnect the power wiring using pliers, and remove the plastic engine cover with a screwdriver. Use a wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off. With a socket wrench, unscrew the tensioner pulley bolt, and remove the water pump as shown in the video. Install the new water pump, the tensioner, and the belt itself, tightening everything with the socket wrench. Finally, reinstall the radiator with the mounting bolts.

Reset Service Light on Ligier X TOO

This brief video covers the resetting of the service/maintenance light. Open the driver's door fully. Position the ignition key to the second stage (this does not mean starting the engine, just turning on the dashboard). At this point, simply press the button (see video) and hold it down. The dashboard will turn off, and the button should be pressed until the speedometer lights up again. When the dashboard is back on, the service light will be off. Of course, turning off the service light does not mean you are exempt from performing maintenance on the vehicle.
