How to replace the steering tie rods of the Audi A3

Today we will explain how to replace the steering tie rods on an Audi A3 model 8P. To perform the replacement of the tie rods, we need to loosen the wheel bolts and lift the car. Then, using a socket wrench for wheel bolts size 17, we completely remove the front right wheel. Using a wire brush, we clean the fastening element that connects the tie rod ends to the steering knuckle. With the help of WD40 spray, we unscrew the nut attaching the tie rod to the steering knuckle, using a socket wrench size 18. We remember the number of complete turns to avoid misalignment during assembly. We loosen the locknut attaching the tie rod to the bar, then using a ball joint extractor we remove the joint. We unscrew the tie rod from the steering control arm and insert a new one. The assembly follows the reverse procedure.
