In this video tutorial, you can see how to replace the tie rod ends on an Audi A4 B6 by following a few simple steps: first, lift the front of the vehicle with a hydraulic jack and then place jack stands under the vehicle; using a 17 mm socket wrench, loosen the nuts on the front wheel.

Raise the vehicle and completely unscrew the wheel nuts, then remove the wheel; clean the fastening element that connects the tie rods to the steering knuckle with a wire brush and WD-40 spray.

At this point, using a 13 mm ratchet socket, unscrew the nut connecting the tie rod to the steering knuckle. With a chisel and hammer, remove the fastening bolts.

Take precise measurements of the position of the ball joint; a caliper can be used for this. Using an 18 mm socket wrench, loosen the lock nut connecting the tie rod to the bar; with an adjustable wrench, unscrew the tie rod from the steering bar. Now you can screw in a new tie rod end.
